Omega 3's one of these things in the public eye that I really dislike, mostly because I don't believe that it actually exists. It just appeared suddenly one day in the news back when the media was having a great time covering the obesity wars a couple of years back. It's on adverts everywhere, "fish fingers, with omega 3!". But what these adverts never do is actually tell us what omega 3 actually does. For example, you see an advert for something with calcium in it, and they Can't Shut Up about how calcium is great for growing bones in children. But an advert that's got omega 3 in it? They just say it's there, never what it does. And I think they never say what it does because either it just doesn't actually do anything, or because it actually doesn'texist.
Ughhhhh
